Psychosocial recovery coaching
At Peer2Peer Mentors, we specialise in psychosocial recovery coaching. Our aim is to maximise your self-determination and self-management of your mental health and wellbeing so you can have better capacity to live independently.
We can assist you in:
- Developing positive and affirming recovery-enabling relationships with friends, family and other carers
- Increasing recovery skills and personal capacity, including motivation, strengths, resilience and decision-making
- Navigating the complexities of day to day living
- Ensuring your preferences of how and when you receive support are met and respected
- Understanding your rights and building your capacity for self-advocacy -
Capacity building
Capacity building support is to help develop and build on skills that maintain your independence.
This could include:
- Learning about nutrition to plan and prepare meals for yourself
- Helping you find appropriate accommodation
- Learning social skills to help connect with community and build positive relationships
- Coordinating allied health appointments to help improve your physical capabilities
- Assistance with applying for jobs, learning how to write a resume and role playing interview scenarios -
Group work
Group work is a great way to integrate critical and social skills together.
Group work can involve:
- Skills around budgeting and money handling
- Literacy and numeracy skills
- Personal health and wellbeing education
- Recreational and community activities -
Support coordination
It’s important that you feel satisfied with the services that you engage.
We can help you:
- Understand what it is you want and need out of the support relationship
- Build confidence in asking for what you need
- Help articulate your needs
- Find providers that can meet your needs
- Learn how to make a complaint or provide feedback -
Improved daily living
Learning to manage day to day tasks can help improve daily living. You can feel safer and more satisfied with your living space while accessing all utilities with ease and comfort.
Under the NDIS this may involve receiving assistance with cleaning, or learning skills in maintaining your home so you can enjoy a better living environment.
We can help develop goals to work towards to achieve improved daily living, such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, doing the dishes & cleaning the bathroom. Learning these skills will boost your independence as well as making for a more pleasant home. -
Core support
We can assist you with daily life tasks.
This could include:
- Meal planning
- Activity planning
- Food shopping
- Learning about task management, organization and prioritization
- Coordinating appointments with health professionals
- Coordinating services including personal care attendants & home maintenance

Social & community participation
We can help you build confidence and strengthen your ability to participate in your community.
This might look like:
- Joining local sporting clubs, fitness venues and classes
- Seeking out and attending social events within your local community
- Building and practicing social skills
- Finding and joining support and social groups
- Attending community access programs -
Transitional planning
In times of transition it can help to have extra support to help facilitate life changes successfully.
We can help by:
- Working with you to recognise and develop skills required for life change
- Collaboratively developing a structured routine to assist with implementing changes
- Identifying potential obstacles and,
- Working with you to develop techniques or alternative plans to successfully overcome these obstacles -
Transport
We can help you travel to work or other places that will help you pursue the goals in your NDIS plan.
